Each panel is printed with a handmade stencil using a rice paste resist and kakishibui dye (fermented persimmon). Kakishibui, rather than fading like other natural dyes, will get darker and richer in color as it ages in the sun.
They are printed on a hemp fabric handwoven in Japan.
